Thanks, I will try it.  Right now my locomotive is with a club member.  Originally bought as track power and he is doing the conversion for me,

You can use the Railpro Bitmap Builder to easily make a picture of your locomotive...

General Discussion / Non-compatible Cl-1
« Last post by darryl.trains on April 26, 2024, 04:00:55 PM »
Bummer as I haven't used the Cl-1 in a long time. Forgot my Apple computer does not recognize RP...  I last used RP on an old PC but since that was quite sometime ago that it might not work.  Now when I think of it, I did a clinic way back, maybe five years ago on RP as I have everything to show but one of my buds had Apple and was not going to buy a PC to be able use RP. Some didn't like the idea of dumping all their DCC decoders. All did like a concept of RP..
Back to the drawing board...I have to download some sounds.. :)

General Discussion / Sound file B-mann On30 50 Ton Diesel

After asking around and sending a note to Ring, I received a message back within a few days. While there is no file to download with this specific engine there is one close enough. Ring said the ALCO 359T is close. Well that will work so anyone having this engine, this is it.
Thanks for listening. Cheers from this part of Arid-Zona,  Yuma

Hello my name is Nick
Been doing G scale since 1990, been doing revolution since it came out and installing Phoenix sound with it.  Now with Phoenix no longer in available did a lot of looking for replacement and here I am starting up with Rail Pro, bought 2 controllers and 4 modules to start out and join this site to learn more about it on here and issues that I might get into. Plus looking for other Rail Pro users in Wisconsin or near by and see what they have done      Thanks    Nick

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / Re: Brake function
« Last post by snowdog on April 16, 2024, 12:22:16 PM »
Hey all,

I've been in RP for a while, I'm trying to operate more realistically. Case in point, when rolling down a grade, dynamic brakes does not function as dynamic brakes (yes, I'm aware it's a sound). So I thought I'd add braking to the lead locomotive to simulate braking action but that does not work. Also, the brakes do not hold when accelerating from a stop (similar to the load function). There is the premise to my question. Thanks for the inputs.

I cap some locos at 75% of top speed account ham-handed operators, but also enhances braking action, at least to me.

Load/momentum has a large effect on the brake action.  The higher the load, the longer it will take to brake.  And you'll need to hold the brake button down....as soon as you release it at all brake action ceases.

As Ian said, during slow speed switching I'll hit the brake up to 100% and hold it there, then throttle down until the brake takes effect, which is to say an immediate dead stop.
