Is RailPro (Ring) having a shipping slow down
« on: November 20, 2020, 07:34:49 AM »
Just wondering if RailPro (Ring) is behind in there shipping orders to dealers, or are there products in stock and easily obtained from them.

Ring typically does not have a lot of stock on hand for dealers, they mostly produce on demand, so it is hard to get orders quickly as a dealer.
What are you looking for? We have a reasonable stock of most things on hand... http://www.pdc.ca

Thanks for that info, I do have a order in with a dealer at this time, so I will just wait on it. I'm not in that big of hurry for it, so time is ok with me. Just wanted to know how Ring works with there dealers.

Also note that due to COVID issues, supplies of certain parts for production have been an issue.  On top of that orders for Railpro have increased significantly.  From an email with Ring:

"Covid has impacted us as a company both good and bad.  Our sales are real strong now (some months probably close to 300% more than last year).  I think there is three reasons. 1) RailPro is growing the longer it is out there.  2) Our recently added G-Scale products have been very significant addition. 3) Because of covid many are staying home and looking for something to do - clearly many are choosing to do more model railroading. Covid has caused us a lot of supplier related problems and other problems that all has detract from our normal business. Do to the increase a significant amount of our development focus has been on production.  We have made very significant  improvements in our production capacity recently."

So, I imagine things will likely take a little longer than they normally would to produce and ship.  But it sounds like they have it all figured out.

The quote rings true if the lack of “What’s New!” is any indication since there has not been anything since February’s PBM.  If Ring business is also picking up vis-vis DCC products that too is good news.
