Looking to put RP 3-s into an RDC

Might there be a good enough diesel sound I could download into the module for my RDCs???  Cheers.  Darryl in dry part of Arid-zona

gregeusa:
It's a very unique sound, basically a 1 speed torque converter "transmission" with a lockup at 55 mph.

If you ever drove an old buick with a "dynaflow" transmission, you would know it.

There should be no notching or gear shifting, and a somewhat subtle change at lockup.

Still have never heard a good representation in a decoder.

darryl.trains:
Greg I believe there is one manufacture that makes a DCC decoder with decent RDC sound. But I'm never going back to DCC ever.  I suppose I can live with a silent RDC? Cheers Darryl

LVRR1856:
Darryl - did you ever find a RDC sound track ?

I would say maybe an old F unit horn /engine or a GG1 ? Could be a close sub to get by with.

darryl.trains:
One came close but I didn't like it. Rapido I think has a fair sound for their RDCs but then copy right might not be worth a chance ? I had to give up as my cheap windows machine went south and I'm not going to buy another one any time soon.  toot toot Darryl in HOT Yuma Arid-Zona
