LM-4S-G light brithness

(1/1)

mecmt:
I have installed LM-4S-G, and i am using the stock bulbs with the engine.  The lights are really dim.  Setting set high.  It is an O scale Atlas engine SW-9.  Any thoughts.  The common, is in the 5+.

Gibs:
Just taking a stab in the dark here but 'stock bulbs' would imply that they are 12V bulbs at least, even possibly 16V (for DC use). So 5V is not going to be anywhere near enough to light up your world.
Even if they are 5V bulbs, you would still be far better off to convert them to LED's. The Manual clearly shows how to do that.

mecmt:
Thats what I thought.  I guess a rewire is in order.

I did have several of those Atlas F-9's and in the past year sold them on eBay. Actually pretty good runner for what you got, the lighting was poor as many with the old style bulbs. I change out all my old style bulbs with LED's, 5mm for headlights and 3mm for other lights, just wire then to the light wires on the module and be done with it and you can adjust the brightness on your controller. I get mine on eBay in 20 packs for around $12.00, plus they have resistors already installed, you do nothing just install the LED. https://www.ebay.com/itm/20-x-Pre-wired-9v-3mm-Warm-Soft-White-LEDs-Prewired-9-volt-DC-LED-Light-8v-7v/161606954180?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200520130830%26meid%3Dd0b0774b8cfb4d75a73f8f2a7e3e6fb4%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D151052047853%26itm%3D161606954180%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV2bDemotion&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851
