Leslie RS3L/S3L/SU3L Supertyfon Horn
« on: November 09, 2024, 06:00:12 PM »
Does anyone have a sound file for a Leslie RS3L/S3L/SU3L Supertyfon horn?  This is probably the most commonly used horn family until recently. UP, BN, ATSF, SOO, MILW, MKT, CNW, KCS, EL, RDG and others used this horn. The Prime PM-290 is identical.

I need one for my SOO SD40-2.

Note: I have files for a Leslie RS3K and a S3K (the S3K is a D# Minor chord, while the S3L is approximately C, D#, A), but they need the loop part edited down to 1 second and I don't have the skills to do that. I could easily live with a S3K file. I just need that Leslie honker sound to stand out from my Nathan K3LAs.

Of course, if someone wants to edit them, I'll share the files here.

Hello,

I know this is old but I was looking for the same horn.

I guess the "Leslie 3 Chime Horn" as it is labeled in RailPro Assistant is supposed to be the Leslie RS3L horn.

According to Google, they are the same horn.

Regards,

Rob S.

I've tried that file. It's one of the older horn files, and just doesn't have that Leslie honk.

Hey Ian,

How about the audio sample on this page? https://hornblasters.com/products/leslie-rs3l-train-horn?srsltid=AfmBOooOXziB1Wu-Zf9WJ-OSnPrsFQfK9oLaxpasoIJFuoVsOT70JM8N

It's downloadable.

I've never attempted to make a custom horn file for RailPro but I might try this one when I get a chance.
