cannot connect to rp server

good morning. the rp assistant cannot connect to the server. i did a bunch of searching and reading. I do not speak computer geek.  i have turned off the firewalls completely, thats not it.
read a bunch about a udp test, following the links never actually takes you to a test. had my younger son come look at it. he followed things and put stuff in the command prompt as directed from one of the threads, but there was something not typed correctly in the post when we copied and pasted into the command prompt.

its 2025, it should not require a computer engineering degree and having to type a bunch of stuff into a dos prompt to get a program to work.
is there a simpler way to make things happen?

Hm. I have not hear of any connectivity issues in years.

I suggest reaching out to Ring Engineering to troubleshoot it with them.
A phone call can go a long way with this sort of thing.
