Servonaut SM-EQ - interesting concept

Having done multiple installs at this point, I've found that sound quality is hit or miss based on the loco/speaker/speaker 'box' combination(s). Majority of my installs seem to have too much treble. You can improve the sound via mechanical means....sometimes....but it would be awesome if there was a way to add a simple EQ either digitally or mechanically. Doing a Google search I found the Servonaut SM-EQ. Its mechanical and I have no idea if it could be modified to work.....just thought it was interesting.

Has anyone messed around with RailPro + EQs?

SM-EQ only works with their controllers, that was the response I got from Servonaut. I did find a DIY passive mono EQ schematic/plan, just need to figure out how to make it small enough to fit in a loco
