SD70ACe Sound File Coming
(1/1)
Cade1989:
I emailed the guys at Ring Engineering asking if they have any plans for a SD70ACe file with the 16-710-G3C prime mover with start up sequence and air assist start. They emailed back saying they are working on their outstanding full digital original recordings of a SD70ACe 16-710-G3C with warning and air assist startup, and working on getting it formatted and released this year. I'm really looking forward to this file.
KPack:
Welcome to the group Cade! Yes, Ring has been working on this file as well as a few others that were provided to them by one of our extremely helpful fellow members. The quality of these new recordings is top-notch. I have the GEVO-12 beta and it is spectacular. Ring dumbed it down a bit for a possible release candidate (the beta was huge), but I'm trying to convince him to keep it as it was.
I'll be looking forward to the 16-710-G3C as well as the G3B recordings coming out. I know he has both.
The one prime mover file that he doesn't have that is SORELY needed is a very good 645-E3 from a SD40-2. So if anyone has access to a SD40-2.....let's hear it!

Cade1989:
I have 2 SD40-2 locos and the current 645 turbo is close but the 645-E3 is ideal. Now the 20-645 is great and I have that file in 2 Genesis F45s.
Cade1989:
I also have the 20-645 in two of my Genesis F45s and the 20-645 file is great. Im also waiting for the SD40-2 645E3 file.
KPack:
I ended up using the 645-20 in my SD40-2's because it sounds much closer to a 16-645E3 than Ring's current 645 Turbo file. It had much better turbo whine and close to the correct pitch. Either way, a new high-quality recording of a real 645E3 will be very welcome indeed.
