Install questions

Tommy Mac:
I have a few questions about installation of a LM-3 in a atlas B23-7. I comes from the factory with an NMRA 8 pin connector. Looking at the instructions it says to install an adapter harness but doesn't have a diagram of which wires go where?  Any help would be appreciated.

MRL Trains:
If you buy a pre-made 8 pin to JST 9-pin adapter, it should work fine as is.  The only concern is orient the 8 pin correctly when you plug it in.  It can go either 1 of 2 ways.  The orange wire is pin 1 and you need to figure out which hole it goes in.  It's usually marked in some way on the board.  If you google it, there is a lot of information on how to orient correctly.

Good luck!

Tommy Mac:
Thank you Chris for the help. I didn't think to look at other manufacturer!

nodcc4me:
The 8-pin plug orientation may be specific for DCC decoders, but I have found that with RP, depending upon the way the circuit board is wired, the orientation doesn't really matter. However, in some locomotives the headlight may not work if it isn't in the appropriate orientation for that loco. In that case, just reverse it. Our site host, Bill, sells the correct WH-9 harnesses in his web store.

William Brillinger:
The WH-9 is not the 8 pin to 9 pin harness. It is a hardwire harness only with the 9 pin connector only.

I do have the T-1R 8 to 9 pin harnesses on hand.
I will bring in an assortment of other harness options for January and add them to my website.
