'Stay Alive' Capacitors?
(1/1)
TwinStar:
Does anyone have experience with any sort of capacitor installation along with the RailPro modules? With both the club and Free-mo layouts I'm noticing flickers in power. The following momentary stall in the train and the resetting of the engine sounds and flickering lights really drives me nuts. I think SoundTraxx has some sort of 'stay alive' capacity but I don't know about installing such with RailPro.
Thanks.

There are currently no keep alive capacitors in RP modules, but they are considering that feature for future development. Tim recently asked me what my most desired improvement would be. My answer was keep alive circuitry.

I wonder if the SoundTraxx CurrentKeeper could be wired to work with RP.

I talked to Tim some time ago about this. Contact Ring and ask for this feature, he said it could be developed fairly easily.
As a side note, I have had great success with graphite on the rails at trouble spots. All the spots that caused me to want KA's are gone.

I emailed Tim, thanks.
That article was amazing. I read it, the comments, and posted it on the national Free-mo list.
