Yes, even power distribution is still needed. Run feeders to every piece of track if possible.

hirailer:
I place feeder wires on every section of track. I find that wire joiners are not reliable conductors. Some people solder their track sections together, there again, I find this is not reliable as the solder connections are prone to separating in time.

Yep. No different than DCC or DC. Like Bill, I am also a fan of feeders to every piece of track. Cheap insurance for trouble-free operation.
