non-train-related LED question
(1/1)
faithie999:
I made an ugly Christmas sweater adorned with a couple of strings of tiny LED's that I purchased at Walmart. the strings are powered by 3 AA batteries wired in series. the battery pack is inside the back of the sweater at my waist and is always in the way when I sit down (yes, that is definitely a first-world problem!).
will 6 volts from 2 CR2032's in series overpower the LED's? alternately, would a single 2032 (or 2 in parallel for more run time) be enough power?
I don't want to cut into the wiring until I know what source I will use.
thanks!!

Alan:
2032 isn't going to work for you. A 2032 has a drain measured in micro amperes. You need milli amperes. Even if the drain were sufficient, a 2032 battery has but 1/10th the reserve of a single AA lithium battery.
Move the battery pack to somewhere more comfortable.

ok--thanks
