There is also now a Clear Active Loco List button in the tools screen of the HC that should do the same thing without having to use the reset button on the back of the HC.

I wonder if a true pre-defined MU feature would be desirable by the masses? I can see it's worth in the setting you gave. I also know of one person that does that (dcc) when he exhibits at train shows; sets all the consists up at home before the show.

 I did see that clear active loco button but, I was afraid that meant it was going to clear all of the locos I had stored in the HC. I guess it does not mean that. Only clears up as far as what we’re currently talking about?

No, it does not remove detected products from the HC.  Even though it's not documented anywhere I'd say all it does is clear the internal list that the HC uses to keep track of what it's controlling at any given time.
