Title: Handheld picture issue
Post by: Dodgezilla04 on July 15, 2023, 10:48:01 AM
Used the bitmap builder. Loaded the image with the cp1.....
Use the handheld and I get the railpro default loco pic... Try to change the pic and the handheld tells me file no local?
What is the fix.??

Copy the image to the handheld from the RPA and see if it fixes the problem.

That worked thank you for the suggestion.  It does defeat the purpose of using the cp1 for programming if you still have to load things into the handheld and then upload again.

Rp is nice, but needs some refinement

One thing with the pictures is that a copy of it needs to be on the HC.
Simply copying all the images you use to each HC should take care of it.
No need to resend them to the LM's from the HC.

If you load the picture onto the LM, it is stored locally there.  An easy way to change the picture on the handheld controller is to "forget" the locomotive, then reacquire it by "find Railpro product".  When it loads onto the controller and you save the locomotive, the picture will now be there.  I believe the LM transfers the picture to the controller so it is stored locally on the HC as well.

That makes sense and then the HC uses the local picture when the loco list is displayed. That would explain why, when changing a loco picture, I need to delete the loco from the HC then re-aquire for the picture to change.
