Title: n scale decoders
Post by: michealtaylor220 on February 12, 2025, 07:34:35 AM
I've repeatedly contacted Rail Pro on the matter of N scale decoders. And there is always some dufus response!!! I do this for my N scale Brother Don and Train Show buddy Joe! I've talked till I'm blue in the face with N scalers far and wide who want the system. All I can ever tell them is they say there thinking about, planning on it, or don't hold your breath!!! RP says eventually, so what does that actually mean??? 100-million years??? If I saw a ton of cash available to me! I'd be damned if I'd be dragging my feet about it! More like I'd be looking for a good shovel and some large canvas bags!!! In the words of the X President ""Come on, man""

and depending on the amperage limit of the yet-to-be-designed N-scale loco module, it would be very useful to HO modelers for installation in small locos, reducing the amount of surgery needed to be done inside the hood (removing metal from the chassis, etc).

but i'm not holding my breath.

1. I've edited your Poll question. It's now friendly without "clever" acronyms for profanity.
2. What is this poll actually for? It seems to serve no purpose other than to allow you to vent.
3. I seriously doubt N scale is the #1 scale, if it was certainly the likes of the Walthers HO catalogue wouldn't be several orders thicker than their N scale catalogue.

Your frustrated, I get it. I'm frustrated with Ring as well, for other reasons but still frustrated.

I'd imagine it probably has to do with the size of the components, and another guess is the size of the radio module... probably an off the shelf module, which keeps RP from having to pay for separate FCC approval.

Any pictures of the board without "covers"?

Just curious, have no horse in this race...
