I have read on occasion that due to space constraints, some have removed the outer shell/casing of an LM-3(S) to get them to fit. I'm currently working on a Kato GP35 install and am contemplating doing the same. Before I do so however, I would like to see what I'm getting into and/or exactly what the internals of an LM3(S) look like.
Does anyone have any photos of one where the outer shell/casing has been removed?
I know it voids the warranty - that doesn't matter to me.
Thanks in advance!

i don't have a photo handy, but when i did this i added a covering of Kapton tape to the module to protect the "guts" from an inadvertent short. the install turned out fine.
go for it!!
