Title: Explosive power of capacitors
Post by: G8B4Life on March 25, 2022, 08:43:19 AM
A long time ago in a galaxy far thread about stay alives, I had mentioned about the explosive power of capacitors. Well one of my more favourite Youtube channels has captured that explosive power in super slow motion. If nothing the video's worth it for the entertainment value but it's a good lesson on why you don't overvolt capacitors.

For those seeking even more explosive force try tantalum capacitors wired backwards. Baboom!

that is fascinating!  for some reason my wife didn't find it amusing!!  must take a Y chromosome to be amused by videos of things being blown up.

Doesn't even have to be backwards, ask the hole in my motherboard how it knows ::) Fortunately that cap wasn't majorly critical and the motherboard functions fine without it.
