Title: Scale Trains Tier 4 Install
Post by: CampbellRice on October 07, 2017, 09:27:08 AM
I just purchased a new Scale Trains Tier 4 Gevo. I have not taken it apart as of yet but I notice the instructions say it has a new LokSound decoder that has dip switches on it. Has anyone looked at how to install a RailPro into this unit yet?
My eyes and electrical experience does not exceed much past plug and play.

I haven't done one of those, but you will most likely have to remove the decoder and hard wire it to take advantage of all the features of RailPro. The speaker is already in there but you would need to wire that as well.

I ended up sending mine to Litchfield Station for the install of the RailPro and a Keep Alive. They did a very good job.

Did you provide the module and KA or did you have to buy them from Litchfield? If you don't mind saying, how much did it cost?

They provided everything, LM3-S The Keep Alive, installation, shipping and all ran me $191.00 Maybe a bit high but it was a quality job.

That's not a bad price for all they did. Doing it correctly is a bonus.
