Getting the word out

(1/2) > >>

William Brillinger:
I plan to send a "news item" to MRH for publication in the News and Events section of the next issue.

Jeff Shultz suggested: the item include some explanation of what the user group is, whether it is associated with Ring Eng., that sort of thing. If you have a website, put it in. You should be able to upload the logo as well.

So, how does this sound:

----------------------------------
The RailPro User Group has moved...

The RailPro User Group has moved from Yahoo! Groups to a new forum at rpug.pdc.ca

RailPro is an advanced, touch based, wireless control system for model railroads designed to eliminate the complexities of DCC.  The RailPro User Group was formed in early 2015 as a place for RailPro users to engage with other RailPro users, providing peer support and ideas to anyone interested in this next generation model railroad control system.

The RailPro User Group is not affiliated with Ring Engineering in any way.

That sounds good to me Bill.

With MRH's wide reader base and the move to a forum instead of a Yahoo! Group hopefully we can attract more current and potential users.

RailPro is an advanced, touch based, wireless control system for model railroads that offers all the functionality of DCC without the associated DCC complexity. RailPro is a powerful full featured control system that is amazingly simple to use.

William Brillinger:
Alan, I like that!

Bill,

Sounds good to me.  Great idea putting a blurb in MRH about the forum!

On a related note, there are also other ways we can get the word out about Railpro in general.  I'd like to see more vidoes of Railpro in use, made to a decent quality so they are enjoyable to watch (tripods are helpful).  When people research a new product it helps to see it in action.  Most people won't know someone near them that has Railpro, so they will need to rely on videos to make a judgement.  Many of the Railpro videos out there are old and outdated (including mine).  With some effort from the community we can provide some great visual resources to help show what Railpro is capable of.  Just a thought I've had recently.
