I can't find a specific answer and I have searched. I am assuming you can run multiple AM-1? If they are limited to 4 switches per AM-1 surely there are railroads with many more switches than that? Remember I am a newbie so be gentle with replies if I am just being dumb.

Yes you can have multiple AM-1. Make sure to give each AM-1 a unique name so you can tell them apart on your HC. Refer to page 9 of the AM-1 manual.
