BACHMANN SPECTRUM AMTRAK ACELA
« on: January 27, 2023, 12:31:32 AM »
Has anyone tried to convert the Bachmann Spectrum Amtrak Acela to RailPro?
I'm not familiar with Bachmann and I would like some pointers before I dive into this project. I haven't yet purchased one, since a set is about $400.00.
The size of the railpro module is what concerns me. Will it fit?

Pop the shell and see what you've got underneath. Is it DCC ready or Dual mode?

This may help? https://roundhouseworkshops.wordpress.com/2022/01/16/bachmann-acela-adding-dcc-sound-leds/ .

I've no idea if the internals (size and shape of the weight) have changed in time but I wouldn't think it would have. As there is more than one thing called Acela TCS  also has an install page for the double ended Acela locomotives.

Thanks! That helps a lot. Looks like I can do an install. Now I have to work the price within my budget.
