Installation LM3S in MTH DCC ready Diesel
« on: March 02, 2023, 08:27:22 AM »
Good morning,

I recently pick up an MTH FA and B units and am installing a LM3S in the A and a LM3 in the B.  I used the 8 pin to 9 pin conversion and plugged in the LM3S.  I am not sure how to make all the lighting work.  The only light that I can control is the lower of the  headlights.  Not sure how to make the other lights (upper headlight, cab light, clearance and marker lights) function.  Changing the wire color in the button set up does not help.   Has anyone had experience with this install?  I didn't see an example in the installation section of the site.

Thanks for any and all input!

Replying to myself-need to tear out the factory circuit board and wire directly to LM3

I was about to reply the same thing. Looks like a hardwire might be the easiest option. I've seen light boards that were easy to use and some that, well, weren't.

Hardwire for any model with Railpro is the way to go!
