Getting started w/railpro
« on: November 19, 2017, 04:37:17 AM »
Hi everyone.

I am new to railpro and saying that I am not an Engineer so,

Here are my questions:

1- I have the CL-1 connected in a USB slot. Attempting to down load sounds (whisle horn etc. ) Assistant program says to add sounds to
"download list to HC" done
then it says "go to Update Software on HC". OK done then the HC does not download says connect USB cable but I have the CL-1 units confused?

How do I use the CL-1 and not the USB cable? Where are the sounds found on RingEng.web page?

Detailed steps please.

Hi Carter,

You need the HC Simulator (HC Sim) software to mimic the HC for use with the CI-1 (C I , not C L) You load files to the HC Sim the same way you would a physical HC, and then use the HC Sim to program your LM's.

You can download the software here: http://ringengineering.com/RailProHcSimulatorSoftware.htm

To copy files to the HC SIM and program your LM's, we've got you covered with Tim's Illustrated Downloading, Copying & Updating with RailPro Guide: https://rpug.pdc.ca/index.php/topic,466.0.html

Check out the rest of the RPUG guides here: https://rpug.pdc.ca/index.php/board,10.0.html

Or, you can follow the directions in the HC instructions from Rings website:
http://ringengineering.com/RailPro/Documents/HC-2UsersManual.pdf

Let us know if this helps!

I had a simular issue except my computer would not recognise the C1. I ended up trying different USB ports and I finally found one that worked. Not sure if that's your problem or not.
