Two iPhone speakers and LM-3S
« on: July 17, 2019, 10:58:03 PM »
I've got a single iPhone 4S speaker wired into my Atlas Geep, and thinking of adding another for better sound. Can the LM amplifier circuit handle less than 8 ohms, or is that the minimum? Don't want to fry the LM!

Railpro can handle 4-16 ohms.  Wire the speakers in parallel and you will have the best sound.  In parallel, the Railpro amplifier will drive 2 amps into the speakers rather than the standard 1 amp.  In series, the amp will only deliver 0.5 amp so it will be quieter.

Thanks for that, those ratings were in the LM literature.
