RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / Re: Lm-3s ho

It has no way of coupling to another loco or cars.   I don't understand why I'd want to drive a lower transistor instead of the motor

It should be the same as the LM-2 series of modules, 2 amp stall, 1 amp continuous.

If your railtruck will never MU (load share ) with another module you should also be able to use the LM-3S to drive a power transistor instead of driving the motor directly (same theory as how transistor throttles could pass high current without passing it through the potentiometer itself).  Idea not tested of course.

Can anyone tell me the current rating of this module? Wanting to use it for my delton g scale rail truck since it's a small loco with one motor. I cannot find the ho info, only the g modules.
Thank you

Is there a website that tells what engines use what horns for specific road names?

All Rings software (RPA / HC Sim) is at this time Windows only.  He has stated it's written so as to be able to be used on other OS's in the future but I don't see it ever happening.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if RailPro Assistant will run on a chromebook, or does it need to be a windows based computer?

Thanks,
Bill

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / My assesment of the HC-3
« Last post by Josephbw on February 02, 2024, 02:54:49 PM »
I give it an A+.

The first thing you'll want to do is input the locos info. And it couldn't be any simpler. All you do is go to the home page and touch the Find Product button. Place all your engines on a live track, and it will find all your engines one at a time and transfer the settings to the HC-3. after each one has been found and input to the HC-3 it will tell you to save the updates, then it will search for the next engine.

As far as the HC-3 itself, it is a little lighter than the HC-2 and a little smaller. The only issue I had with it was accidentally bumping the horn button on occasion, But that is because I am clumsy and don't pay as close attention as I should.

The speed control knob has more texture than the old ones and gives you a better sense of control of the speed. Most other functions are the same or very similar to the old HC's.

I didn't order a lanyard, also because as I said before (I'm Clumsy) and I didn't want it hanging in front of me where I could potentially bang it into the layout and break something.

Like I said before I give it an A+

Happy Joe

You're probably right.  I didn't catch that glitch in 2.26 because by that time all my locomotives had already been loaded.  But like Bill I'm glad to hear that it was resolved in 2.29.

It's good for people to know how it's supposed to operate, so hopefully your experience helps someone else avoid the same issue.
