Cat out of the bag? new HC-3 and Ring update
« on: January 16, 2024, 05:21:50 AM »
A check of RailPro Assistant this evening bought up something new. A listing for the HC-3 product program. Nothing about the HC-3 on the website yet but there is a explanation of the chip shortage on the "What's New" page.

Interesting to see whether the HC-3 is the same form factor and function as the HC-2 (ie, something like just a processor upgrade gets it a new model number) or if it's completely different.

Way back in 2020 I sent an email to Ring asking about the possibility of using a proto throttle with RailPro. The response I received was that they had a project in development that may let that happen. They also volunteered information that they have an idea on a similar setup to the proto throttle for RailPro. Hopefully the HC-3 has some of those ideas they alluded to; that would be really exciting.
