Regarding RailPro Sounds
« on: January 20, 2021, 10:34:17 AM »
I just installed RailPro in an LGB #50 diesel switcher and I need a sound that's really not as massive as what RailPro offers. My only choices I see are the EMD 567, or the GE 7FDL. I guess I will go to the Colorado RR Museum videos on YouTube and watch the #50 switcher running and pick the best sounding of the two. So do any of you run these sounds in a small switcher and what did you end up going with.

If you choose the GTEL Turbine and manual notching, the turbine only kicks in around notch 3 or 4. Prior to that is a sound like a small gas or diesel engine which they would've used to move the big Turbine locos around the shops.

That might work for you.

Thanks for that info, I did install the EMD 567 sound and for now it sounds very good, I did turn down the sound level to match the size of the switchers diesel engine.
