BLI challenger
« on: January 26, 2021, 12:48:09 PM »
Hello folks! Hope everyone and their families are doing well. I have pre ordered a challenger from BLI, and I’m looking for info on the smoke unit of the model. I’m looking forward to installing a RP module in it due to the recent problems with the p3 decoders. I’m trying to figure out if I can use an output for the smoke machine. If anyone has any info it would be great to hear from you. I’m planning to order from Bill in the a week or so.

Thanks
Orlando

You should be able to.

I don't have any BLI steam to confirm that but TCS does have an install guide (obviously for their decoders) for the BLI 2-8-0 that deals with the smoke unit: https://tcsdcc.com/index.php/installation/ho-scale/1962. If the Challenger uses the same smoke unit the smoke unit part of guide may give you an idea of what you'll need to do. From what I can tell you'd need to use 2 outputs, one for the smoke and one for the fan.
