All these wires

I am thinking that there are some extra wires that I will have no use for on the LM-3S.  for example, on the 6 pin side there are wires marked input 1 and negative.  What might they be used for?

thanks,    Ken Zieska

Input 1 is not used at this time. It is present for future enhancements to LM.

The negative pin was added by Ring to facilitate the use of keep-alive add-on although there has been some debate as to the safety of doing so because it bypasses the internal over-current protection circuitry.

You are correct in that a typical installation does not use either of these connections.

When I have unused wires on the LM (input, negative pin, extra light outputs) I just pop them out of the harness so they aren't taking up space and making a mess.  Easy to do with a small screwdriver or a tip of a blade....just lift up on the retaining plastic tab and pull the wire out.  I keep all my old wires in case I want to put them back in later.
