Rapido Dash 8 40CM
« on: December 30, 2017, 10:22:17 AM »
Here's the Rapido CN Dash 8 40CM I put a module in. I used a TCS 3.5" 21 to 9 pin harness and ran the speaker wires up the side of the circuit board in the fuel tank to 2 iPhone 4S speakers which Rapido have clips for inside the body.
The downside is that the cover for the fuel tank won't fit back on in it's current form. I'm planning to modify the catch to reduce its depth. As of now the module just sits on the ledge inside the tank.
attached is a couple of photos of the LM3S in the fuel tank.

Other than the latch any issues? Got my 2 last week and have been procrastinating.
Thanks for sharing

Not Really. I should point out that using the 9-21 pin TCS harness the number lights won't work. The green wire will control the ditch lights but the violet wire has nothing to control. I might wire them directly in the future, but it's not a deal breaker for me that they don't work.
I've since cut the fuel tank cover clip right off. It's a nice press fit and seems it'll have no problem staying put for now. dash-8-40cm-fuel-tank-cover.jpg

Good info as I have one to do tomorrow. Where were the speaker wires located?

If you look at the circuit board in the fuel tank you can see daylight on one side. I worked the speaker wires up though there. I’ll get a picture for you tomorrow morning and post it.

Here’s the late picture of the inside of the Rapido Dash 8 40CM with the twin iPhone 4S speakers.

Yes it does. The 7FDL-16 ULT would have to be one of the best sounds to listen to.

Looks good, here is my install after wiring the speakers together. I also added 3 weights to the frame as well.

Also if you have Facebook I have a Railpro group there to post videos and such but it is by no means to take over this site. Here is a link to a video of my Rapido unit.
