Turnouts HC icon

I'm sure this is a dumb question but perhaps you will humor me.

Using AM-! to control turnouts on dead rail outdoor setup.  I have them working fine but the switch picture or icon or whatever the proper work is on my HC is exactly opposite of what the turnout is actually set to.  I.e. if the turnout has the train going straight thru the picture shows the switch set to turnout instead, and the opposite.

Sorry if not describing this correctly.   But is there a solution?

Try moving the switch manually once, then try the HC again. That may fix it.That has happened to me a few times.

Could you tell us how you're using the ac1 to control turnouts please? Such as what's activating the turnout

Try reversing the wires at the AM-1.

Outdoor layout, 5 AM-1 scattered around 600 ft plus of track, each powered by a twelve volt battery and controlled by HC-S.

I am afraid I don't understand that question, I am using the AM-1 to power my LGB 12010 EPL switch drives, that move the tracks in the turnout???

The controller tells the AM-1 what to do and the Am-1 provides power for the switch movement.

On my Atlas turnouts, the only wires that go to the switch mechanism come from the AM-1. Track power has nothing to do with the switch mechanism itself.

That's what I have with my turnouts on dead rail.  Only two wires from my AM-1 to the LGB 12010 EPL switch motor.  No other electricity involved.

Thank you. I had the thought a few months ago to do the same, and the consensus was the am1@ 12v would operate the 18v switch motors.... Apparently that's not correct.

Apologies if I added confusion. I wasn't aware that your switches require 18 volts.

I am using LGB switches and the 12010 switch motor and the 12 volt batteries work fine for a long time, I have one battery for each AM-1 with each Am-1 controlling the maximum 4 turnouts each.  Works like a charm and the batteries last a long time before needing recharged.

My point in starting this thread was not the operation of the turnout, but only the icon showing the switch position opposite of actual on my HC.

And back to the point of my question, reversing the wires on the AM solved my problem.

I am in the process of this exact thing and was pointed to this thread.  That is exactly what I am wanting to do, so I have a couple questions. 

By saying a 12 volt battery, that is the part that I’m confused.  I was told you have to use their PWR-56 power supply.  Any pics would be appreciated.

Next, with 600 ft, how far spread out are your switches?  RailPro manual says with 16 ga wire the length is only 20 feet.  I need longer distances unless I do some major redesign.  So what size wire did you run and what kind of lengths?  Are your AM1’s spread out around the layout or centrally located?   I would prefer to have them centrally located. I assume the AM1’s are in some sort of water proof box, so did you wire in a switch to kill the battery power or are they powered all the time even when not using the railroad? 

Again, any pics would be greatly appreciated.  I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if I don’t have to.
