Error during charging.
« on: December 17, 2025, 03:10:50 PM »
Hi there,

I’m just getting back into model trains and am charging my HC-2 using a PA-3 and cable. I keep getting the attached screen flashing every minute or so. What does it mean?

Thanks,

- Jeff

It may be a bigger problem, but make sure you plug the charger cable into the outlet first and then the HC-3 second.

Thank you. It is more than that. Ring Engineering says batteries are bad.

Had this happen to me too.  If you let batteries sit too long they slowly loose charge then did. He told me to pull it out periodically and charge it.  I now do that every 3 or so months. And do the engine batteries too.

The Batteries are not hard to replace.

It does look easy to replace the batteries. Unfortunately I’ve already sent the controllers to Ring Engineering.  Next time.
