Purpose of the "clear active locos list" button
« on: January 07, 2026, 04:24:31 PM »
While researching an issue I had regarding linked locomotives, I came across a July '24 discussion in this forum about not being able to unlink locos and in there it was recommended to use the "clear active locos list" button.
What exactly is the function of the "clear active locos list" button and its intended purpose?

The handheld controller keeps an internal list of modules it has controlled / is controlling. Normally after an amount of time (2 minutes I think) of non activity of a module it's automatically dropped from the active loco's list. Reportedly this sometimes didn't happen and if I recall correctly one of the side affects was you couldn't select the module again if it had been part of an MU. I seem to remember one of the reasons this could happen is not waiting the 2 minutes after finishing running and turning off the handheld controller.

The button simply clears this internal list.
