Trainfest 2017
« on: November 12, 2017, 05:11:40 PM »
Spend a nice day outside of Milwaukee at the annual Trainfest. This event bills itself as having the most layouts on display filling a 4 football field space. Of the 59 layouts I found 1 RailPro user. I want to thank Marv from the Wisconsin and Michigan RR Club who I had a nice but hard to hear discussion. Watching the trains run the operator (Marv)walked next to me and I noticed his controller was RailPro. He loves the sounds and since I don’t have any RailPro sound running yet, I listened. He told me what to listen for and said try that at Soundtraxx or some of the others. Well Soundtraxx was there so I went and listened, IMO RailPro sounds were better. Almost as good at Locsound both at the Locsound booth and the MRH booth where I tried out the Proto Throttle. Loved it.

If any of you Adriano junkies could figure a way to incorporate that throttle into RailPro, what a coup that would be. I tried quite a few command systems today ( the new Locsound system among them) and I tell you the ease of use of RailPro has me again convinced that I picked the correct system for me.

Since the Protothrottle is open source, Ring could easily make an adapter for it. I think if anyone is interested in that, they should bring the PT to his attention. I had the pleasure of trying one at Joe Atkinson's place earlier this year and it was a great experience.

Wow is Joe Atkinson finally upgrading his DCC? About time. To bad he didn't go RailPro but since he just changed out to LocSound I guess that won't happen.
