try to find 1 complete cycle of the loop and then trim the sound to the " zero crossings"

I find the best loop I can using the repeat play option and move the selected section out until it sounds good.
Then I make a fade from the segments before and after the section I looped so it meshes naturally.

Not an easy task, is it? Gives you a renewed appreciation for why it is taking Ring so long to roll-out new sound files and why he is so picky about what recordings he accepts. The devil is always in the details.

John,

Did you "make" this sound, or is it a recording of a real horn?

Ideally the sample should be longer and I think there may be a 'pop' in the middle of the recording which is why it's not looping nicely. If you created this digitally, can you make a longer version?
