RailPro Users Map
« on: June 18, 2017, 01:04:16 PM »
UPDATE by RPUG ADMIN:

As of Aug. 15, 2022, The map has been moved to this address:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1CB_wlpbDhLl6HeI5Qxyx9Rt7A2ZTiFU&usp=sharing

All:

I've started a map that will 'pin' the location of RailPro individual users and groups. Reply here with your location (general city, not necessarily a specific address) and I'll get you added to the list. Feel free to provide contact information if you wish.

drive.google.com/open?id=1YT5ly1cHgxnzDfFRXGn3sizmlP4&usp=sharing

After clicking on the link to the map look below the infield search bar for a 'balloon' icon similar to the majority of those on the map. If you hover above this icon it will say 'Add Marker'

Click this 'Add Marker' icon

You pointer will turn to cross hairs

Move the cross hairs to your location and click

A new marker will be placed and a dialogue box will appear with 'Point XX' in the top field.

Replace this 'Point XX' with your screen name

Add any additional information in the lower field such as group, your railroad, contact info, etc.

Click SAVE

Jacob, some instructions for people who want to add a pin could be helpful.

How come LK&O Railroad has a Locomotive icon instead of a balloon?  Can we the whole map be set up to use the locomotive icon instead of the balloons?

Click your pin and the dialogue box will appear

Just right of center on the bottom of the dialogue box is a symbol that looks like a paint can being spilt

Click that paint can icon

It will allow you to change the icon and the color of your icon

Sometimes I am a computer illiterate........I don't see the search bar below the infield.

Michael,

You'll need a Google account to add yourself to the map (this is why I'm not on the map, no account and not likely to get one either!). If you have a Google account sign in on the right hand side of the map and you should be able to add yourself. If you don't have a Google account you'll either need to sign up for one or ask someone here to add you.
