RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / Re: HC-3 froze up while using
« Last post by WyldBill on April 08, 2024, 03:22:25 PM »
I heard back from Ring today. I told them I got the HC-3 working after the battery shut down. They said they haven't heard of this happening before, and said the locomotive information screen program (Where the freeze occurred) hasn't changed from the HC-2 to the HC-3, so they're not sure what happened. I did learn there is an "Auto off" feature......which I will read up on and turn on.

Thanks,
Bill

Latest update....
The battery in the HC-3 finally gave out this afternoon. I was able to charge it back up to 100%, and was able to run a train.
I will still contact Ring to see if there has been a history of this happening or if this is a one off. Hopefully it was just a one time glitch....

Hi Bill,
Ok, I will give them a call. Per your email earlier this week I updated the program to rev 1.06.
As of this morning there has been no change to the HC. I'm assuming the battery will die soon, and maybe that will do something.
Thanks,
Bill

you'll get a faster response by phone with Ring.

Also According to Ring, there is an urgent update, they say: Please update the program on HC-3's as soon as possible.  Rev 1.06 or newer is an important update.

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / HC-3 froze up while using
« Last post by WyldBill on April 05, 2024, 11:32:43 PM »
Hi all,
Has anyone had an instance where their HC freezes up while running a loco? I just had that happen to me on my HC-3 and I can't change screens or even turn it off.
I have already sent an email to Ring. I suppose I'll have to wait until next week for a response.
Anybody have this happen to them? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
WyldBill

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / Re: How To Set Up Chuff Synchronisation
« Last post by jebouck on March 30, 2024, 05:26:50 PM »
Using a reed switch and three magnets on a tender wheel, I succesfully got it to chuff 4 beats per driver revolution.
Works good enough for me.

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / Re: New prime mover won’t copy to engine

What is the error message?

Do you have the LM close to the HC or the PC you are copying from?

Is everything up to date software wise?

RailPro Specific Help & Discussion / New prime mover won’t copy to engine
« Last post by Davidbross on March 24, 2024, 12:01:55 PM »
Help appreciated

Brand new lm4sg board. I made room
By deleting prime mover and other files.

I’ve tried to copy over a new ult prime mover. It won’t copy.  After attempting for a while it gives error message.

I then tried copying the same engine but in the older non ult. Same thing.

I’ve tried two different computers that I’ve used many times for this before.

I can get other sounds like horn or bell to copy.

Thoughts?   My best guess is that the original file didn’t fully delete so there’s not room.  I say that because the deletion happened pretty quickly.
